Saxon England - a fast, simple and interesting read for lovers of historical fiction

I enjoyed the trilogy mainly because it covered a new period of history that I was not that familiar with. The series wetted my curiosity enough to do a little reference work in Wikipedia for the era.
Most of the books were devoted to describing battles and very little character development. But it held your interest in spite of this. The one big enormous flaw was the editing, or rather lack thereof. It was like the book was digitized using a $5 OCR scanner and no one bothered to check the results. Annoying, but don't blame it on the author. Because of the series, I do plan to expand reading on the era by other authors. Perhaps even an author who takes the side of the Saxons.

The story is good but.......

The story is captivating and entertaining but the typographical errors, lack of editing, and mix up of characters is so bad that it seems like an elementary school student wrote this book at times. On one page one of Wolf Warriors captains is killed, two pages later Wolf Warrior is stating he wants him as part of a meeting with the King. This isnt the first book that is like this. I am glad the price is so low or I would have returned the book because of the typo's and poor editing

This yarn, however, is set on the Irish Sea coasts and islands off Wales and so is a refreshing scene from the ordinary, Again, human life is cheap and women merely chattels . The central character might be Briton or even ex-viking stock, but certainly an original inhabitant of the area.
