We live in a world with so much emphasis on what you have versus who you truly are, and this has led to individuals believing that just having money would be the answer to their biggest problems. Though it has its place, money is not the way to happiness. In his book HOW TO MANIFEST MONEY EFFORTLESSLY author Bruno Cignacco reminds the reader that what really matters is the way we look at life and the role that money should have in it.

There are many reasons why some don't have the abundance of finances that they wish. Cignacco makes the point that really it begins with the purpose of having money that determines a great deal of what we can get and what we can do with it. If you are looking to money for the answer to problems then maybe the first thing to examine is how would having money change your situation? Then we have to start looking at what we're doing to make what we desire a reality. Are we saving or splurging, being reasonable with our purchases and choices or letting money just fall from our hands? All of this plays a part in what we get and what we're able to do with it.

For individuals of faith prayer and meditation are important components to searching for what we want, but even with that the specifics are important. Just saying you wan to be rich is not a need. That's a desire. If we are focus too much on the money and not enough on the reasons we won't be able to see the result manifested for us. We have to be clear in our intent and walking purposely in order to be rewarded. Doesn't mean you will be a millionaire, but it does mean that you can live your life without allowing money to be what motivates you.

Well written! A "must read" if you are interested in how our food system works and how it became what it is.

Wayne Roberts has taken a very complex subject and written an easy to understand guide. There are so many key points in every paragraph, I found myself highlighting nearly everything! I love this book! I had to buy a second copy after leaving my copy with side notes and highlighted text on an airplane. I hope the finder of the book enjoys it as much as I do!

An Excellent Introduction to Challenges and Opportunities Facing the Global Food System

In this book, Roberts brings together his wealth of experience in food systems work (in Toronto, Canada and beyond) and his highly developed skills as a writer to provide a concise and sophisticated overview of the challenges and opportunities facing the global food system. I used this book to teach a third year University-level geography course on the global food system and it received rave reviews from my students. It is well written, easy to understand, and provides ample opportunity for critical discussion. Robert's conversational style weaves together important concepts with personal anecdotes to provide a unique perspective on the key issues. The new 2013 edition also clarifies concepts introduced in the original and provides much clearer narrative for those new to the subject matter. In my teaching, I supplement the book with more scholarly pieces to provide theoretical foundation. Beyond the academic, I would highly recommend the No-Nonsense Guide to World Food to anyone interested in an introduction to this important subject and for those already well versed as a comprehensive perspective of food system thinking.

If you really want to know the naked, nasty truth about the world’s food system, you simply must read this book. I’ve read several books on this topic, or related to it, and none of them do the job as completely and efficiently as this one.

Mr. Roberts lays then entire system bare, on the table, and picks through it’s bones! The picture isn’t pretty, not by a long shot. He exposes the fallacies of ‘cheap food’, how the U.S. in particular has used agriculture to dominate the economies of the Southern Hemisphere for decades, and how the so-called attempts to ‘feed the world’ were really just a mask for exporting excess grain and undermining local economies in Africa, South America, and beyond. This drive to dominate has led to the destruction of the environment, the reliance on fossil fuels to keep the system going, and the impoverishment of nations all around the world.

But Roberts also sees positive movements towards a more sustainable world, especially through urban agriculture, focusing on organic, locally produced food. The solution, he argues–and he’s right by the way–is to decentralize food production, by putting it back in the hands of the people, and out of the hands of massive corporate farms. Food should be a human right, not a commodity.

Hunting Human by Amanda E. Alvarez - Review

My thoughts:
Fantastic story! I fell fast and didn't put it down until it was over! I love the fresh new take on the whole werewolf idea! If this first book is any indication of how great future books will be I can't wait!
Incredible characters! Each of the characters has been well thought-out and lovingly designed. It was easy to become completely engrossed in the lives on the page. I was fully invested by the time I had turned the page a couple times. If you are into shifters - this book is for YOU!
Elizabeth is superbly created! From the first altercation in the bar when she was young, you just know she is going to great. Angie - we all know that woman and secretly hope to have that kind of effect on people. Braden - WOW! What more needs to be said - truly, we could only hope men like this existed! I won't go on and name each character, but they all deserve mention as each and every one plays an important role. The author didn't waste a single word on a character that had no meaning in the story, nor did she under-develop anyone. Really, all the characters are superbly created.
The story line is smooth and the transitions between the past and the present flow easily. The plot is interesting and intriguing - keeps you turning the pages. I was thrilled with the new spin on werewolves - absolutely LOVED Braden's family and the idea that they chose and were supported and loved. It was interesting that the mate for life aspect that we see in almost every shifter story is missing here - giving the characters the choice in who they decide to be with. The added mythology and family ties are fantastic.

Hunting Human is a very compelling emotional read. Be warned this book can be brutal. I truly enjoyed this book I couldn't put it down even though I found the story with a back in fourth relationship between the hero and heroine and the heroine Beth at times very shellfish. I just had to keep reading about this human lady being put in a brutal situation with a pack of wolves. Then after she meets Braden Beth is put in another dangerous situation that could cost her and hero Braden's relationship. I did fell the need to smack Beth at times the way she acted, but with what she went through before and after she met Braden, I am sure I would have been on the defensive too.

The sex tension between Braden and Beth is very high, but the sex is on the lighter side then most paranormal reads, I still found it very nice. I enjoyed the characters and I hope to read more on the Edwards family. The Villains are brutal and add a lot to the story.

Will keep you riveted from start to finish

A great, well-rounded werewolf book full of non-stop action with a few surprising plot twists that'll keep you guessing. The characters are engaging and they each have their own unique traits that'll leave you feeling like you want to be their best friend. The side-characters are equally just as lovable and the bad guy in this novel is particularly dark and warped. For me, the only thing missing was more werewolf action but I'm hard to satisfy on that front so I won't hold it against Amanda E. Alvarez.

The beginning chapters give readers a sneak peak into Beth's past. However, the story returns to present day before giving us a few of the key puzzle pieces. Don't worry, you won't have to wait until the end to find out what happened but yes, you do have to wait. I was left feeling curious, anxious and a little confused. But then we meet today's Beth and she seems to have a lot of issues. She doesn't trust easily and is incredibly strong-willed. It was easy to understand the reasons behind most of her actions but her stubbornness was frustrating at times.

Braden is the kind of guy that every little girl dreams of marrying when she grows up. He's chivalrous, sympathetic and a hurricane in bed. He forgets to think before he speaks a few times which made me tone down my crush on him a few notches but overall - two thumbs up. Also, there are a couple of bed-frame-breaking encounters between Braden and Beth that add a bit of spice to the overall werewolf action.

Be prepared for Amanda E. Alvarez's curve balls throughout this book. There are only a handful but when they strike you'll find yourself looking around trying to figure out where in the heck they came from. There's a bit of wolfish goodness peppered amongst the pages but most of the characters' problems seem to be of the human variety. I wish there'd been more four-legged action but the werewolf element was relevant to the overall storyline. That made me happy. One of my pet peeves is when supernaturals are added into a story as an afterthought and are generally irrelevant to the plot.

Braden's family was comforting and warm. I couldn't help fantasizing about pulling up a hair at their dinner table and joining them for a meal. They're all just so kind and loving. I took an immediate liking to them. Chase was a good addition to the mix as well. He's part of the family but also not and one of the only ones who could understand what Beth is going through.

Hunting Human is a fast-paced read that will keep you riveted from start to finish. The action's plentiful, the sex is hot and the plot will keep you guessing until the very end. This book ranks low on the werewolf but high on all of the others so I can't really fault it. This novel is a great way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Nice conclusion to the series

Revealing Silver is the conclusion of the Silver Maiden Trilogy by Jamie Craig. With a very small amount of recap, it picks up exactly where Touching Silver left off. And thank goodness for that! The cliffhanger at the end of Touching Silver was a real doozy!

The oldest story in the world is boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy gets girl. As a society we've finally admitted that there are tons of wonderful stories in the variations on that theme--boy meets boy, girl meets girl, variations where three or more can play, whatever happens to float your personal boat. Science fiction and fantasy have added even more flavors, for example: boy or girl meets robot, or boy or girl meets vampire or shapeshifter, but the basic concept still stands. The love story is a classic, and the pattern is the same, they meet, they get separated, they get back together.

In Chasing Silver, Remy and Nate meet because Remy gets dragged back in time 70+ years. For them, it's a miracle. They save each other.

Touching Silver was Nate's partner Isaac's story. When Nate and Remy find each other, Isaac is left out in the cold. He's been the one keeping Nate from the abyss for the past five years, and suddenly he's a fifth wheel. Until Detective Olivia Wright walks into his life. Olivia doesn't need saving, but she would love to be his partner.

Two couples who have both fulfilled the first part of the love story equation, in the middle of Nate and Isaac's investigation of a gang war between their two worst enemies; Cameron Parker, the man who set them up five years ago, and Gabriel de los Rios, the gang leader obsessed with the Silver Maiden coins, and the one who kidnapped the seven young girls in Olivia Wright's Cold Case files.

At the end of Touching Silver, Nate, Remy, Isaac and Olivia interrupt a ritual Gabriel and his cousin are conducting, a ritual designed to bring back the original Silver Maiden. Gabriel and his cousin Marisol may be crazy, but six girls are still missing, and Remy knows that this ritual is building up the same kind of power that sent her back in time. She stops the ritual by throwing herself into the ritual circle, and finds herself jumping time again, this time back to Los Angeles in 2000. Her only hope is to contact Isaac and Nate in that time, while they were still both LAPD, and try to get help without screwing up her own personal timeline.

Nate is still back in 2010, and is devastated almost beyond repair. He tried to go through the circle before it closed, and Isaac stopped him. Their friendship, their brotherhood, is in tatters. Olivia is also linked to the Silver Maiden coins: Gabriel and Marisol both say that she a "Keeper", a part of the coins in her own right.

When Gabriel and Marisol's agendas diverge in their desires to use (or abuse) the Silver Maiden's power, Gabriel kidnaps Olivia and uses her "Keeper" power to send her back in time to fix the things that he believes Marisol has broken, while he holds Nate hostage in 2010 for her "good" behavior. It's a wild race to the finish.

Escape Rating B+: I was up until after 2 am trying to finish this. I was that caught up in it. The characters do make references to being caught up in a Doctor Who episode, and that's pretty appropriate. There are a certain amount of "timey wimey" bits involved. But definitely in a fun way.

I will say that enjoying this story depends on having read the other two. This is the third book of a trilogy, and it assumes prior knowledge. It does wrap up all the loose ends very nicely. Justice is served, and the good guys get their well-deserved happy ending.
