Amber’s trying to stay away, and Jake’s trying to not turn furry. They both fail miserably—and with a lot of sweaty and enjoyable property destruction.
By giving in to her mating call, Amber finds out more than she ever wanted to know about herself, her family, and the rogue wolf who took so much from her so long ago. As her past comes back to bite her, she’ll have to decide what she’s willing to give up for her mate. Her home? Her pack? Her…heartbeat?

A Love Worth Biting For

Other reviews are already up on details so I'll give a few thoughts.
Jake is a vampire / werewolf and he is the protector of his vampire 'family'. Of course he's tall, built, and handsome. Amber, like her name is a buxom red head werewolf, an alpha in her own right.
There is a lot more plot and back story besides Jake and Amber mating. That makes a nice change from the standard sniff, mate, and straight into smex. Thankfully both characters are well drawn and the back up crew is interesting, too.
One thing that bothered me. SPOILERS: If Jake's mother 'converted' Amber and her father. .. . There are more details around that tidbit . . . But if that is all correct, then Jake is younger than Amber. A LOT younger. Then there's Jake's sister. I assume she's older than Jake? Or a twin? Otherwise the family dynamics and explanation doesn't make sense.
I would have liked a better ending. I wanted more about how the 'clan' hierarchy shifted and how Jake felt about it. At least talk. Up until then Amber was fine with Jake being so dominate, this was tradition that the males are the pack leader yet in the clan the power has shifted. I would have liked some closure on where they're staying, if they had money to buy land or if they're stuck in a hotel or what. I assume the next book is about Mary because that part needs closure, too. So 3.5 stars from me. Lots of smex, pages and pages, little humor if any, strong characters, predictable situations, outcome a HEA. - Dan's Wife

I loved this book!!

Told from the viewpoint of Amber, a female werewolf, (a unique viewpoint in it's own right), Mews creates a rich new world and weaves a fun tale of love and danger. Vampires and werewolves, yes, but also the possibility of a hybrid - someone who is both werewolf and vampire.
And it's such a fun read. Amber's voice jumps off the page, grabs your collar, and drags you into a story so compelling you will loose sleep...but so worth it. Sex, danger and just plain fun. It's everything I look for in a paranormal romance and then some.
5 stars? You bet! I will read this one again, and look forward to more Hart Clan novels.
Seriously, read this book.

Amazing first book!

I was lucky enough to win this book in a contest. I was so glad I did. I really enjoyed this book! The characters were well developed. Werewolf(?) meets vampire(?) with family pasts that would make any soap opera writer drool. The pacing was well done. Had me turning the page to see what would happen next. There was action. There was romance. The story had very interesting twists, turns, and surprises to it. The ending, though HEA, left us with plenty of places to go for more. The heat level was HOT! For a first book, this was amazing! Keep up the great job! I am a fan!
