About the Author
James Roberts was born in the Worcestershire town of Evesham in 1967. His interest in the Great War, inspired by stories of his Great Uncle Frank s mercurial career on the Western Front serving with D Coy, 1/8th Worcestershire Regiment, began at an early age. James studied History at the University of Worcester and was awarded his PhD in 2004. During his time as a lecturer in Modern History, he delivered and published a number of papers examining the motivations and behaviours of Great War soldiers. James currently resides in the Highlands of Scotland where he is employed as a commercial copywriter.

an outstanding volume that ruminates well on death and its aftermath

Volume 4 of this series is outstanding. As I've mentioned in reviews about earlier volumes, the writing by James Roberts is excellent. He writes deep and, at times, funny dialogue. He has developed a number of fantastic characters with different, histories, motivations, world views and moods. They are his great achievement. The characters of Ratchet, Whirl, Ultra Magnus, Chromedome, Rung and Cyclonus have been handled particularly well. The plot is well thought out, interesting and moves along at a perfect pace.
As a therapist who treats people that have suffered losses and those with PTSD, I'm quite impressed with Mr. Roberts's ability to present these issues in an intelligent, accurate fashion. Well done.

It made me cry -- in a good way.

This easily is the best in IDW Transformers comics, right up there with Last Stand of the Wreckers. Not only that, but the story and characterization make this comic one of the best currently-running graphic novels. I love it so much that I started buying the floppys on Wednesdays, because I can't wait long enough for the next TPB to come out (and I used to never buy floppy issues before reading MTMTE, only TPBs -- yeah, it's that good).

Seriously, what can I say about this book series that could ever own up to its awesomeness?
Thus begins a convoluted tale, an epic quest (yes, I did use those words intentionally!) and the snark and snappy shots abound.
In this series, you will run a gamut of emotions, but every book will leave you tasted-up for the next installment!
